Resume of Clare Barr

Clare Barr was trained in property making at Rada and graduated with distinction in 2003. Previous to that she toured extensively with many fringe theatre companies throughout Europe as a creative director and prop maker.

She was introduced to blacklight theatre while in the Czech Republic and set up her own children’s theatre company specialising in ultra violet effects in 1998, performing in schools and touring the English summer festival circuit for a number of years.

Now based in Brighton, she works freelance as a prop maker and runs 'Madthings' - a prop and puppet making company. Her specialities include polystyrene carving, mould making and latexing. Her favourites are fake food and really really big things!!

I really enjoy my work, she says, and I take a lot of pride in it but it is really important to me that the client is as happy with it as I am so I endeavour to accommodate even the most awkward requests!
